Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Production / Operations Manager to lead a large-scale, high-volume fabrication and manufacturing operation. This is a critical leadership role where you’ll drive performance, efficiency, and on-time delivery across a complex, fast-paced environment.

You’ll take full ownership of day-to-day operations, managing resources, optimising workflows, and leading a sizeable workforce on a 24-hour shift basis. This role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with strong operational execution.

Key focus areas:

• Leading production and operations across a complex fabrication environment
• Driving efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Managing and developing large teams (150+ staff)
• Ensuring strict adherence to quality, safety, and ISO standards
• Delivering on tight deadlines with a strong focus on on-time delivery

What we’re looking for:

• 10+ years’ experience in operations within a heavy engineering / job shop environment
• Strong background in steel fabrication, welding, hydraulics and pneumatics
• Proven leadership experience managing large, shift-based teams
• Solid understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, or industrial engineering principles
• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial preferred) or related field
