My client is a consulting firm with a focus on providing advisory services in value chain & manufacturing excellence, sustainability and growth strategy.

Their offices in KZN are looking for a mid-level Sustainability Consultant to join the team and run large local value chain (VC) sustainability programmes for some of South Africa's largest manufacturers

THIS ROLE IS KZN BASED. 

Your primary mandate will be to develop and implement professional solutions and thereby support firms achieve their local manufacturing sustainability and decarbonisation strategies.

This will include:

• Identify, quantify and present opportunities for decarbonisation and greener production based on client needs, available data and global best practices.
• Facilitate multi-stakeholder, cross-functional engagements to present and evaluate these opportunities and explore potential interventions to realise them.
• Set projects up for success with SMART objectives, risk identification and robust monitoring & evaluation mechanisms.
• Delegate or execute chosen initiatives efficiently and effectively, whether it be facilitating a strategy session, modelling a business case, building a dashboard, optimising a process flow or researching global best practice.
• Analyse VC sustainability and carbon data in line with agreed objectives and interventions.

Desired Experience & Qualification

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum bachelors degree in an analytical, at least partially quantitative, subject from a leading academic university.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in sustainability and decarbonisation consulting (previous management consulting experience in essential)
• Experience working within retail value chains.
• Recognised project management qualification, e.g. PMP, Agile, etc
